Who can take part

  • You are a mother with depression symptoms (your score is high enough on a depression questionnaire)
  • Your child is age 2 to 5 and enrolled in a participating Head Start program
  • You can communicate in English or Spanish
  • You do not have psychosis, a major mental illness, or a significant cognitive disability that would make participation hard
  • You do not report frequent suicidal thoughts on the depression questionnaire (a specific high-risk item)
