Who can take part
- Be age 18 or older.
- Be scheduled for one of these surgeries: radical nephrectomy (kidney removal) for kidney cancer, or radical nephroureterectomy (kidney plus ureter removal) for upper-tract bladder/urothelial cancer.
- Not have very advanced long-term kidney problems (chronic kidney disease stage 4 or 5).
- Have blood pressure that is not dangerously high before surgery (not ≥180 top number or ≥110 bottom number).
- Have a relatively low heart risk for surgery and be able to do usual activities (not too limited in stamina).
- Be able to communicate with the study team (for example, not severe dementia or a major language barrier).
