Who can take part

  • You are a woman who is postmenopausal, or you are pre/peri-menopausal but your ovaries have been removed (preferred) or you’re using an ovarian-suppression medicine
  • Your breast cancer is ER-positive (estrogen receptor positive) and HER2-negative
  • Your cancer is stage IIIb or stage IV, and you have at least one measurable/evaluable spot the doctors can track
  • You have not had other drug treatment for advanced disease (or your prior hormone therapy timing fits the study’s pattern)
  • Your blood counts and liver/kidney tests are within required limits
  • You can’t be pregnant or breastfeeding, and you must use reliable non-hormonal birth control during treatment and for 6 months after
