Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older
- Have had a recent heart attack or heart injury, with coronary angiography showing no obstructive (blocked) coronary arteries
- Have at least one cardiovascular risk factor such as age over 70, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, current smoking, prior heart attack, treated high blood pressure, reduced kidney function (eGFR 30–60), or COVID-19 (confirmed or suspected)
- Be able to have the planned heart tests, including coronary angiography and heart imaging (cardiac MRI)
- Avoid certain medicines: do not take an MRA already, and avoid specific drug interactions (for example some anti-fungals, antivirals, certain antibiotics, nefazodone, or the ACE inhibitor + ARB combination)
- Kidney function must be at least eGFR 30 (mL/min/1.73m²), and you should not have severe liver problems or significant heart failure signs after the heart injury
