Who can take part
- You have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF that comes and goes) and have been restored to a normal rhythm.
- You are not already taking eplerenone or spironolactone.
- Your kidneys work well (creatinine under 2 mg/dL and filtration rate above 50 mL/min).
- Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is 50% or higher.
- You do not have severe mitral stenosis, a prosthetic heart valve, or untreated thyroid disease.
