Who can take part

  • You have a history of high blood pressure
  • Your recent blood pressure fits the study limits (higher if you are not on BP medicines)
  • Your echocardiogram shows thick heart muscle (LVH) meeting sex-specific thickness cutoffs
  • You have not used certain hormone-blocking pills in the last year (eplerenone, spironolactone, finerenone) or amiloride
  • You do not have certain heart or stroke/heart-attack history or unstable heart symptoms in recent months
  • Your kidney, liver, thyroid, and blood salt levels are not significantly abnormal, and you are not pregnant
