  • You are over 18 years old and staying at Hospital Residencia Sant Camil
  • You have an IV line in a hand/arm that is used intermittently (not placed for a medical emergency)
  • You can sign a consent form to join the study
  • You do not have an allergy to heparin
  • You are not already on a type of heparin called unfractionated sodium heparin
