Who can take part

  • Be between 13 and 25 years old
  • Be scheduled for medically necessary surgery to remove a lesion in Heschl’s gyrus
  • Speak and understand English only (monolingual English speaker)
  • Have normal language skills for understanding and speaking (or within normal testing range)
  • Have normal hearing in both ears (or corrected hearing) on a hearing test
  • Have no history of autism or ADHD
