Who can take part

  • Have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 18
  • Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Do not have sleep apnea (or have less than 10 episodes per hour)
  • Do not smoke or use nicotine products
  • Have no major heart, lung, liver, or kidney problems, and your blood pressure must be below 140/90
  • Avoid certain conditions/medicines: diabetes, nerve/neurologic disease, blood clotting/bleeding risk or blood thinners, and any known sensitivity to lidocaine
