Who can take part

  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher
  • Your waist measurement is at least 88 cm (about 34.5 inches) for women or 102 cm (about 40 inches) for men
  • Your weight has been stable (no more than 5% change) over the past 6 months
  • You do not have a history of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, liver or kidney problems
  • You do not have sleep apnea, chronic lung disease, or asthma that causes frequent attacks
  • You have not had bariatric surgery or used tobacco/nicotine products in the past 6 months
