Who can take part

  • You have a suspected or confirmed infection
  • You need medicines through an IV (vasopressors) to keep blood pressure at a safe level (MAP 65 mmHg or higher)
  • Your blood test shows lactate above 2 mmol/L
  • You are receiving norepinephrine (a vasopressor) at more than 0.2 mcg/kg/min
  • You can safely have an esophageal Doppler device and a urinary catheter if your clinicians recommend them
