Guiding blood pressure medicine reduction in septic shock

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You are in the ICU with septic shock (a life-threatening infection causing low blood pressure).
  • You need a breathing machine (ventilator).
  • You have been on a blood-pressure-raising drug (norepinephrine) for at least 4 hours.
  • Your condition is stable enough that doctors can start lowering the drug, with blood pressure above 75 mmHg, good heart function, and low lactate levels.
