- You have systolic heart failure with an ejection fraction (EF) of 50% or less
- You have not had a heart attack within the last 4 weeks, and you are not currently unstable with chest pain
- You do not have any active cancer
- You have not had surgery that cuts the vagus nerve (vagotomy)
- You are not pregnant
- You do not have end-stage liver disease or serious heartbeat/blackout history that would make this unsafe
