Who can take part
- You had an ischemic stroke and were admitted within 1 day of symptoms starting
- Your stroke was in the brain artery areas fed by the anterior, middle, or posterior cerebral arteries
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- Your stroke is moderate to severe (NIH Stroke Scale score of 5 or higher)
- Your treatment included a blood-clot approach like clot-busting medicine (thrombolysis) or clot removal (thrombectomy), with good reopening of blood flow if needed
- You can give consent and safely take part in light therapy or melatonin if assigned
