Who can take part

  • You had an ischemic stroke (caused by a blockage) and were admitted within 1 day of symptoms starting
  • Your stroke is in brain blood-flow areas served by the front, middle, or back brain arteries
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • Your stroke severity is moderate to severe (NIH Stroke Scale score 5 or higher, as your clinicians measure)
  • You received an approved blood-clot–opening treatment (thrombolysis or thrombectomy) and had satisfactory blood flow return afterward, if that applies
  • You can give informed consent (or have a process in place to do so)
