Numbing injection options for back surgery pain

Who can take part

  • You have a planned back surgery (laminectomy) on 1 or 2 levels
  • You can safely receive local anesthetic (no allergy to numbing medicines)
  • You agree to take part in the study and sign consent
  • You do not have serious ongoing heart, kidney, or liver problems, or nerve problems in the arms/legs not caused by your main condition
  • You do not have active local infection at the surgical site
