Who can take part

  • You are classified as ASA II or ASA III (mild to moderate health problems)
  • Your planned surgery (laparoscopic or open) will last more than 60 minutes
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is over 35 kg/m²
  • You do not have serious or uncontrolled heart rhythm/blood flow problems or certain heart conditions
  • You do not have major nervous system conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, or liver/kidney failure
