Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a spine surgery such as fusion, discectomy, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, or foraminotomy
  • You are 22 years old or older
  • You can speak and understand English well enough to complete study tasks
  • You do not have conditions like delirium, dementia, or psychosis that would make it hard to follow the study
  • You do not plan to become pregnant during the study (and you are not currently pregnant)
