Who can take part
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of MDS that is “very low/low/intermediate-1 risk” and you have 5% or fewer blasts in the bone marrow.
- Your MDS must have returned or worsened after prior treatment, or you couldn’t tolerate it, or standard treatments weren’t a good fit for you.
- You have ongoing anemia and either low hemoglobin (under 9) without recent transfusions, or you need red blood cell transfusions regularly.
- Your bone marrow iron level must be documented (or blood tests must show enough iron).
- You must have adequate health for study safety: good activity level (ECOG 0–2) and certain acceptable liver and kidney test results.
