This study tests whether playing certain sounds during a period of limited sleep can affect how your body responds after you’ve been kept awake. It’s designed for healthy adults and checks safety and how well you can follow the study instructions.

Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 39 years old, and able to participate if you are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Understand the study instructions and score at least 80% on a short quiz (you get one retest if you miss)
- Be able to maintain a usual sleep schedule and typically get about 6 to 9 hours of sleep per night
- Do not have known sleep problems (such as insomnia or sleep apnea) or symptoms that suggest a sleep disorder
- Be able to meet study lifestyle rules: no heavy caffeine or alcohol, and no regular cigarette smoking
- Not be in another clinical trial, pass drug testing, and be willing/able to provide an ID number needed to be paid for participation
