Who can take part
- You must be 18–39 years old, and you must be able to complete screening as a healthy volunteer
- You must understand and pass a short quiz about the study (at least 80% correct, with one retest allowed)
- On average, you usually sleep 6–9 hours per night, and your usual sleep schedule fits the study window
- You should not have trouble falling asleep (average time to fall asleep must be 20 minutes or less)
- You must avoid certain substances and supplements (no sleep aids in the last year; limited caffeine; no drugs or nicotine at screening)
- You must not have major health conditions (for example: seizures/neurologic disorders, heart disease, uncontrolled mood/depression requiring recent hospitalization, or serious lung/kidney/liver disease)
