Who can take part

  • Your child is enrolled in a lifestyle management program for obesity at one of the study centers
  • Your child’s obesity is not part of a genetic or syndrome-related cause
  • Tests suggest the fatty liver is not from other causes like viral infection, autoimmune disease, or genetic liver conditions
  • Your child drinks less than 20 grams of alcohol per day on average (if alcohol applies)
  • Your child’s FibroScan screening test is valid and interpretable (not “unvalid”)
  • Your child is not taking medicines that can worsen fatty liver or scar the liver, such as systemic corticosteroids or methotrexate
