Who can take part

  • You have cancer that has spread to the spine bone (from T5 to L5)
  • Your spine pain from the metastases is at least 4 out of 10
  • Your overall function is good enough (Karnofsky score over 60, or ECOG 0–2)
  • Your imaging and doctors say you are a candidate for SBRT radiation, and only up to 2–3 spine levels are involved
  • Your lesion is considered possibly unstable (spinal instability score is 7 or higher)
  • You can fill out follow-up questionnaires about pain, pain medicines, and quality of life
