This trial tests a new way of giving high-dose radiation to solid tumors that have spread to the spine. It is for people whose spine is stable, have not had prior treatment to that area, and have only minor weakness (if any).

Who can take part

  • You have a solid tumor (like lung, breast, prostate, or colon cancer) that has spread to your spine.
  • The affected area includes no more than 3 vertebrae next to each other.
  • Your muscle strength is mostly normal (at least 4 out of 5) – you may need mild support like a cane or walker.
  • Your spine is stable (not at high risk of breaking).
  • You have not had previous surgery or radiation to the same spot in your spine.
  • Your tumor type is not small cell lung cancer, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or germ-cell tumor.
