Who can take part
- Be 18 to under 80 years old
- Have chronic kidney disease—either low kidney function (eGFR under 60) or on maintenance dialysis for at least 3 months
- Do not have nerve or brain/muscle control diseases such as muscular dystrophy, ALS, spinal cord injury, stroke, or myasthenia gravis
- Do not have major nerve/brain diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or Huntington’s
- No active serious infection in the last 3 months
- Not currently pregnant, and the study doctor must agree you’re safe to join
