Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older
  • Have had an ischemic stroke (confirmed on exam and brain imaging) within the last 4 weeks
  • Have weakness on one side of the body, especially reduced use of an arm
  • Your stroke severity should be mild to moderate (NIHSS score between 3 and 7) and function score mRS 3 or less
  • You must be able to safely have MRI and brain stimulation (TMS), and be able to consent
