Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older and can give informed consent
- Your ECG shows a prolonged AV interval (PR greater than 180 milliseconds)
- You are scheduled to get a pacemaker for approved reasons like sinus node disease or certain types of second-degree AV block
- You are not a candidate for an ICD or a CRT device (or you are not being planned for those devices)
- You do not have severe valve problems like bad mitral or aortic valve regurgitation or stenosis
- You do not have certain AF histories or recent procedures, like long-standing persistent AF or AF ablation, and you are not planning pregnancy
