Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You have a slow heartbeat condition (sick sinus syndrome) that causes symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, or fainting.
  • You have a long delay between the atria and ventricles (PR interval greater than 200 ms on an ECG).
  • You do not have permanent atrial fibrillation or a pre-existing pacemaker or defibrillator.
  • You have not had a heart transplant or a mechanical tricuspid valve.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are expected to live at least 2 more years.
