Who can take part

  • You must be under 18 years old
  • You have idiopathic aplastic anemia that is severe or moderate and requires blood transfusions
  • There must be no matched related (family) donor available
  • A very close match donor must likely be found (at least 3 matched unrelated donors listed in major donor registries)
  • You must not have a serious infection that is not under control, and your organs (liver and kidneys) must meet blood test limits
  • You (and your parents) must be able to read, understand, and sign the consent; if pregnancy is possible, pregnancy prevention is required
