Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old
  • You have leg pain with walking (intermittent claudication) for more than 3 months
  • Your blood-pressure test of the affected leg shows an abnormal result (systolic pressure index below 0.90)
  • You had an ultrasound of the leg arteries showing an arterial blockage/lesion
  • You do not have heart problems that make walking on a treadmill unsafe (no recent heart attack, no angina, and no tight aortic valve symptoms)
  • There are no other health issues that limit walking besides the artery problem, and you can give written consent
