Who can take part

  • You’re 18 years or older and can give consent for the study
  • You’re having abdominal, orthopedic, or vascular surgery under general anesthesia (fully asleep)
  • Your surgery is expected to last more than 2 hours and you have ASA II or higher
  • You have at least two health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, smoking, stroke history, kidney disease, or similar listed conditions
  • You are not currently in pregnancy and you are not breastfeeding
