Rivaroxaban versus usual care for fast, frequent heart beats

Excessive Supraventricular Ectopies or Short Atrial Runs (ESVEA)

Who can take part

  • You are age 65 or older
  • Your 24-hour heart monitor (Holter) showed either at least 1% abnormal atrial signals (PACs) or short runs with at least 20 PACs
  • Your stroke risk score is high (CHA2DS2-VASc score of 3 or higher)
  • You can attend study visits and get a brain MRI at the start and again at 24 months
  • You can understand the plan and follow instructions, and you agree in writing
