This trial compares two medicines to prevent blood clots after heart valve surgery. If you've had a tissue valve replaced or repaired, this study will see if a newer blood thinner (rivaroxaban) is safer and works better than the standard treatment.

Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have had a tissue (bioprosthetic) heart valve replacement or repair in your mitral or aortic position.
- You have not had recent major bleeding, bleeding disorders, or significant trauma or surgery within the last 30 days.
- You have not had a stroke, heart attack, or major surgery within the last 3 months.
- You are not at high risk for bleeding, and do not have severe liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or active cancer.
- You are not taking certain medications that interact with the study drug, and if you are a woman who could become pregnant, you agree to use adequate contraception.
