Thopaz+ digital chest tube vs standard drainage in kids

Who can take part

  • You must be 17 years old or younger
  • You must be needing a chest tube for a spontaneous pneumothorax or lung surgery
  • The chest tube must be placed by a surgeon or surgical trainee at The Children’s Hospital
  • You should not need emergency surgery or a repeat operation
  • You must not have had chemotherapy or radiation in the past 12 months (or before the operation)
  • You should not have kidney or liver failure, neurologic problems, or an infected pleural space (empyema)
