Who can take part
- You are 6 to 29 years old, and you can swallow whole pills.
- You have a recurrent brain tumor with no curative treatment left OR a solid tumor that came back/failed treatment after at least a second course of therapy.
- Your cancer can be measured by the study’s scan criteria (RANO for brain tumors or RECIST 1.1 for other solid tumors).
- You are expected to live more than 12 weeks and you can do daily activities at a “moderate” level or better (Lansky/Karnofsky score ≥ 60).
- Your blood counts and major organs (kidney, liver) meet required thresholds; oxygen levels on room air must also be adequate.
- You must not already be taking an SGLT2 inhibitor (like dapagliflozin drugs) or thiazolidinedione drugs, and you must not have type 1 diabetes or be on insulin.
