Who can take part
- Your breast cancer is hormone-receptor positive (ER and/or progesterone receptor) and HER2-negative
- Your cancer has spread (stage IV) or is locally advanced/recurring and not curable with surgery or radiation
- You are post-menopausal (or, if not, you can start hormone/egg suppression and use effective birth control)
- You can take pills by mouth and can swallow oral medication
- Your blood counts and organ tests are strong enough for study medicines (enough red cells, white cells, platelets, and acceptable liver/kidney tests)
- You are healthy enough for treatment (limited disability: ECOG 0–2) and any recent treatment effects have mostly recovered
