Who can take part

  • Be 18–55 years old (healthy volunteer part) or 18–70 years old (RA part).
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) in the study’s allowed range and weigh at least 50 kg.
  • If you’re in the RA part: have active RA, with enough swollen/tender joints and abnormal inflammation blood tests (CRP or ESR).
  • If you have childbearing potential: you must not be pregnant and you must use effective birth control starting 4 weeks before dosing and for 90 days after the last dose.
  • Avoid certain meds/supplements before dosing (including herbs like St. John’s wort) and avoid alcohol/caffeine rules while at the study site.
  • For the RA part: you must be on a stable dose of methotrexate (MTX) for at least 12 weeks before screening.
