Who can take part

  • Be age 12 or older
  • Be a patient seen by Columbia University’s Shoulder Elbow and Sports Medicine Service
  • Have had your first kneecap (patella) dislocation
  • You do NOT need urgent surgery right away for a ligament injury or a bone/cartilage injury (osteochondral fracture)
  • You have NOT had any previous knee surgery and did not have knee instability before this injury
