Who can take part

  • You have a PFO seen on an ultrasound test (TEE) showing a right-to-left blood leak
  • You had an unexplained stroke (cryptogenic) within the last 9 months, confirmed by CT or MRI
  • You are between 18 and 60 years old
  • Your heart tests do not show other major heart valve problems or heart muscle problems
  • You do not have a known high-risk blood clot/bleeding condition, and you can take aspirin or clopidogrel
  • Your blood vessels and health allow the TEE test and the device to be placed safely
