Treating sleep apnea to study effects on metabolism

This study tests a sleep apnea treatment approach and looks at how it may affect your body’s metabolism. You may be eligible if you’re an adult with sleep apnea and meet health and medication rules, and possibly if you already use a PAP machine regularly.

Who can take part

  • Be age 18 to 70 and able to sign consent
  • Have a BMI under 40
  • Not have diabetes (type 1 or type 2)
  • Not have certain major heart or stroke history or unstable health conditions
  • Not currently use (or have recently used) PAP or an oral sleep device for sleep apnea
  • Your oxygen level while awake must be 90% or higher
