Studying an MRI contrast method in mitochondrial muscle disease

Who can take part

  • Ages 10 to 60 years (Aim 1) or 10 to 23 years (Aim 2) and at least 135 cm tall for Aim 1
  • You must be able to complete the required exercise testing (Aim 1) or be non-ambulatory in the PICU (Aim 2)
  • You must be willing and able to follow all study procedures and instructions
  • For people with mitochondrial disease: you need a genetic confirmation of mitochondrial myopathy (for the PMD Aim 1 group)
  • You must be able to lie flat in an MRI scanner for up to 45 minutes and complete ankle exercise during the MRI
