Implanted vagus nerve stimulator for mild to moderate Alzheimer’s

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s (mild to moderate stage) and have a positive amyloid PET scan
  • You are 50 to 85 years old
  • Your thinking/memory test scores are in a specific range (MMSE 16–24 and CDR 0.5–2)
  • You have stayed on the same Alzheimer’s “cholinesterase inhibitor” medicine dose for at least 8 weeks
  • You can do testing in Mandarin and sign consent to join
  • You must be able to safely have brain MRI scans (no MRI contraindications)
