Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 70 years old, and you can’t be pregnant or planning pregnancy in the next year
  • You have high blood pressure that is essential (not caused by another disease), and you either can’t tolerate medicines or they’re not controlling it
  • Your 24-hour blood pressure is high (average top number at least 130, or daytime at least 135) and your pulse pressure difference is under 80
  • In the last 6 months, you used blood pressure medicines, and before enrollment you took a standardized plan with at least two drugs for at least 28 days with at least 80% adherence
  • Your kidneys are functioning enough (eGFR at least 45) and you’re okay to undergo the surgical kidney procedure
