Who can take part

  • Be between 22 and 75 years old when you are screened
  • Have OCD for more than 5 years with symptoms that take over 1 hour a day or cause major distress or impairment
  • Have severe OCD symptoms right now, based on a clinician-scored checklist (Y-BOCS score 28 or higher)
  • Have tried the usual OCD treatments and still had severe symptoms (at least two SSRI antidepressants, plus other add-on treatments, plus exposure and response prevention therapy)
  • Be able to stay on your current mental health medications and avoid starting new exposure therapy (ERP) until the study says it’s safe
  • Live within 6 hours of the study site and have reliable support (stable housing and at least two emergency contacts) for about 18–24 months
