Who can take part
- You have non-small cell lung cancer that can’t be removed by surgery (stage IIB or III) and it has spread to lymph nodes
- Your lung cancer diagnosis is confirmed by lab testing (biopsy/sputum/cytology), and your tumor size is 7 cm or smaller
- Your scans show no spread to distant organs (no distant metastases) within 60 days of starting the study
- You can have the needed pre-treatment tests, including brain MRI (preferred) or CT, and a CT chest with contrast
- You are at least 18 years old, can do usual activities with some limits (ECOG 0–2), and your blood/organ tests are adequate for chemo and radiation
- You cannot have had radiation to the same lung cancer area before, and you must have an identifiable primary tumor (not T3–4N0 or T0N1–3)
