Who can take part
- You must be under 18 years old.
- The injury must be within the torso (chest/abdomen/neck/pelvis) or the head, based on specific bleeding/scan signs.
- The study medicine must be able to be given within 3 hours after the injury.
- The head injury must include bleeding on a CT scan and a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 3 to 13 (they enroll after the CT scan).
- You cannot already have had tranexamic acid for this same injury.
- There are exclusions such as pregnancy, known kidney failure, known allergy to tranexamic acid, certain clotting/bleeding disorders, and certain neurologic injury types.
