Low-dose heart-rate medicine after surgery in frail older adults

FrailtyEsmololMyocardial Injury

Treatments studied

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests whether a low dose of esmolol (a short-acting heart-rate medicine) can reduce heart muscle injury after non-heart surgery in older, frail people. It may help lower the chance of heart-related complications around the time of surgery.
