- You’re an adult trauma patient (age over 15, or weight over 50 kg if age is unknown)
- You were taken directly to a trauma center from the scene of the injury
- Bleeding is serious enough that the team starts a blood transfusion (red blood cells, plasma, or low-titer type O whole blood) within pre-hospital or hospital care
- The trauma team has activated the hospital’s massive bleeding transfusion protocol
- You have confirmed or suspected major acute bleeding, or the ABC score is 2 or higher
