Negative pressure breathing device for sudden low-oxygen breathing failure

Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are currently in the hospital with sudden low oxygen breathing failure.
  • Your scans (chest X-ray or CT) show lung opacities that are not from a heart problem.
  • You started high-flow nasal oxygen (at least 30 liters per minute) within the last 4 days, and your oxygen settings are FiO2 40% or higher.
  • Your oxygen level on pulse oximeter is at least 92% (SpO2).
