This trial studies azvudine in adults with early COVID-19 symptoms to see if it can prevent the illness from getting severe. You may qualify if you’re within about 5 days of symptom start and have risk factors for worsening disease.

Who can take part
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have COVID-19 symptoms that started no more than 5 days ago and a recent positive COVID test
- Have at least one COVID-19 symptom right now
- Be considered “higher risk” for severe COVID-19 (for example: age 60+, diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease, high BMI, smoking, certain weakened immune systems, or not having COVID vaccination)
- If you can become pregnant: agree to effective birth control during the study
